FINANCIAL AID:

IMPORTANT:  If your financial aid (grants, scholarships, and/or loans) does not pay your balance in full, you MUST pay your balance in full OR make payment arrangements and pay one-half of your total balance for SUMMER and/or one-third of your total balance for FALL no later than the IMPORTANT dates listed above.  For information regarding MSU payment plans, visit the MSU Business Office Payment Plans webpage.

NOTE REGARDING COURSES TAKEN FOR THE 3rd OR MORE TIME(S):

An additional charge of $150 per semester credit hour will be added to your account for courses determined to be taken for a 3rd time.  The additional charges for most courses will appear immediately.  In some cases charges may appear on the student accounts the next business day.  Click here for additional details:  http://registrar.mwsu.edu/3peat.asp.

NOTE REGARDING EXCESS HOURS TAKEN BEYOND DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:

The Texas Legislature established that universities will not receive funding for students entering higher education in Fall 1999 or later or who exceed 45 semester hours above the degree requirements.  For students entering Fall 2006, this limit is 30 hours above the degree requirements.  Effective Spring 2013, the Board of Regents has determined that MSU will assess an additional tuition charge of $150 per semester credit hour for excess semester credit hours in which students enroll above these limits.  To avoid being charged extra tuition, students should be aware of the number of credit hours required for their degree programs and avoid taking excess hours.

BACTERIAL MENINGITIS INFORMATION
The Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 1107, effective January 1, 2012, requiring all students under the age of 30 entering an institution of higher education in Texas to either receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis or meet certain criteria to decline the vaccination before the first day of the semester.

MSU has contracted Magnus Health to collect, review and securely store all student documents pertaining to the meningitis vaccine. Follow this link
http://healthcenter.mwsu.edu/meningitis/ for more information.

NOTICE TO DISTANCE EDUCATION STUDENTS:

Some online courses require proctored finals given in college or university testing centers.  These centers frequently charge a fee of $10 - $25 per test.  This fee is not included in your tuition and fees for the course and is an additional expense for which you will be responsible.

Note:  If you are using a business or government connection and cannot get the WebWorld link to work, then it could be because of the security on your computer (network/firewall).  Most students do not have this problem when using a home computer.  It is most likely that the network does not allow SSL connections on TCP port 9040.  You might request from your I.T. staff that the port be globally opened or opened just for the portal.mwsu.edu.
